Silk
Towers
Architecture in conversation with Batumi’s waterfront. The project
A new piece of
Batumi’s waterfront.
Silk Towers is a mixed-use waterfront district planned for the last available site in the heart of old Batumi, beside the Ali & Nino sculpture. Nearly ten hectares bring together residences, hotels, landscape, hospitality and leisure in one masterplan.
Four buildings are arranged to preserve long views and encourage natural air circulation. The architecture is conceived not as an isolated object, but as a sequence of shaded terraces, planted façades and public spaces connected to Batumi Boulevard.
Masterplan · Black Sea waterfrontArchitecture
Designed with nature,
not against it.
Silk Development commissioned Kengo Kuma & Associates for the studio’s first project in Georgia. The design uses texture, landscape and human scale to soften the presence of the towers and create a closer relationship between city and sea.

Yacht club
A Kengo Kuma-designed marina club with concierge, security and support services.
Pools & wellness
Indoor and outdoor pools, spa, fitness and wellness facilities across the development.
Sport
Six professional padel courts, a mini football pitch and further active infrastructure.
Food & retail
Restaurants, bars, cafés and premium retail planned as part of the wider district.
Hospitality 24/7
Concierge, reception, valet parking, housekeeping, technical support and rental management.
Materials & climate
Built for the
Black Sea climate.
Bioclimatic studies informed the towers’ massing, terraces and window proportions to reduce heat gain, support airflow and retain daylight. Wind and solar analysis shaped sheltered outdoor spaces and a more comfortable year-round microclimate.
The façade combines exposed concrete, mineral textures, greenery and aggregates made with stone from the historic Bolnisi quarry. Even stone fragments previously treated as waste are repurposed within the façade material.
